New to UX? Or doing UX but need a better understanding of some techniques? Manage or work with user experience designers and not sure what they do? This workshop is for you.

This workshop covers core user experience design skills, providing the theory and principles; and putting them into practice via a practical activity that runs through the day.

At the end of the workshop you’ll have a much better understanding of some of the techniques and principles that are needed to create great user experiences. You’ll also get an extensive set of resources to refer to when you have to put the ideas to work on your next project.

  • User research
  • Persona development
  • Scenario development
  • Sketching and iterating
  • Design principles
  • Usability testing
  • Communicating the design

Workshop structure

The workshop is a combination of theory and practice. Each theory section covers principles and examples, then you practice it – based on an activity that you develop as you work through the day.

This workshop is aimed at people who are reasonably new to user experience design, either doing it or involved with it:

  • User experience designers (or service designers, customer experience designers etc)
  • UX managers
  • Project managers
  • Developers

What you’ll take away

Participants will get the full set of slides (printed for the day, electronic after the workshop). They will also get a long list of recommended articles and books.
